Helping Brunswick County Small Businesses Get Found And Work Smarter
Brunswick County is big and spread out. A business in Leland, one in Southport and one in Shallotte can be in the same county and still be running in completely different markets.
I'm based in Leland and work with businesses across the county. There's no second office anywhere else, just a drive.
Serving more than one community
This is a common problem for businesses serving multiple Brunswick County communities. A contractor covers Leland, Belville, Winnabow, Bolivia, Supply and half of Oak Island, but online the business looks like it only exists in one town, or worse, like it's unclear where it works at all.
Fixing that honestly, without fake addresses and without spamming Google, usually comes down to a few things:
- A website that plainly states the areas you actually cover
- Service areas set correctly on your Google Business Profile
- Pages that describe real work in real places, not town-name swaps
- Consistent business information everywhere it appears
- Reviews from customers in different parts of the county
What I won't do is create a fake address in another town or set up extra Google listings you aren't entitled to. That's a fast way to lose the listing you have.
Home services, contractors and trades
Construction and home services stay busy here, between new builds inland and older coastal properties that need constant work. The businesses that win aren't always the best tradespeople, they're often just the ones who answer, follow up, and are easy to find. That's a marketing and follow-up problem more than a skill problem.
Coastal towns, restaurants and retail
Business near the water doesn't run on the same calendar as business up in Leland or Bolivia. Some months you're turning people away, some months you're wondering where everyone went.
That changes what's worth doing and when. Sometimes the smart move is preparing during the slow stretch so you're visible before the busy one, rather than advertising hardest when you're already full.
Local reputation carries a lot of weight here
In smaller Brunswick County communities, word of mouth still decides a lot, and reviews are just word of mouth that new residents can read. A steady review process matters more than any clever ad.
Marketing beyond Google
Spread-out counties are exactly where mail still works. Community advertising and shared direct mail can reach specific neighborhoods without you paying for the whole county. See local advertising.
One business, several towns, one clear story
You don't need a separate website or listing for every community you serve. You need one business that clearly explains where it works and what it does.
